It's In The Book

Painting I did for conceptart.org, environment of the week forum. The theme was: It's In The Book. The buildings are supposed to look like leather-bound books... the idea is it's like a promo poster for a library, inspire kids to read.

Hopefully not encouraging kids to set books on fire, though :P

Underwater Cave Expedepition

Friday speedpaint, ~30 min. Trying to take advantage of some of the slow time at work while we’re on lockdown for the milestone. 100% photoshop, no stickypad sketch this time. Trying to really work on my paint skills via speedpaints. Plus, they’re fun to do.

Another quick western-themed painting done at work that started as a sticky-note sketch. Fun stuff! J

The Outlaw

Quick sticky-pad pencil sketch that I painted over. The theme was ‘Western’. I think this started as a ‘sketch-of-the-day’ w/ Abe…

Update: The Bad Side of the City: EoW

Made some changes based on the very helpful critiques from the guys at work. I think I’m done with it now. It was very fun to do. Hopefully I’ll be doing these a lot more frequently.

The Bad Side of the City: EoW

I’m still trying to work on my PS ‘painting’ skills. I guess this is still a WIP, I just don’t know what else to do with it besides really starting over or doing some MAJOR overhaul to it. No real focal point is probably the biggest problem. Fun to practice, though.

Hellboy vs. Disney

Ballpoint pen on post-it note.

I have a feeling that I’ll be posting a few more Hellboy vs. Disney sketches. We’re in lockdown again next week. Did this at work between programs exporting and such. I think that skull up in the corner belonged to Minnie… that’s probably why Mickey is so angry.

Robin...

Spent a little bit more time on him, trying to get a more ‘painterly’ look. Colors are tough… Still trying to get away from the comic-book outlines.

Lecture Doodles

Trying to keep busy during a class lecture I was attending online. That floating head is my instructor Chad Sellers who should be fun to work with.
